Interlaken and its surroundings are ideal for a tour on a rental bike. Our e-bikes and bikes are suitable for any self-guided tour to Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, Matten, Wilderswil, Bönigen or to Lauterbrunnen in the valley of the 72 waterfalls.
With our e-bikes, you can master any incline with ease. Child seats and child trailers are available for family outings.
If you only want to travel to Interlaken or Unterseen, or take a leisurely ride to one of the two lakes, Lake Thun or Lake Brienz, take a look at these bikes without an electric motor . The paths in and around Interlaken are mostly flat, so an e-bike is not absolutely necessary.
If you would like to cycle to both lakes and visit the beautiful villages around Interlaken, we recommend our e-bikes. There is a marked bike route around Interlaken, the so-called Bödeliroute 380, which takes you to many sights around Interlaken. There are some inclines on this Bödeliroute, and if you are not so fit, we recommend renting an e-bike. If you cycle frequently and have no problems riding uphill, our normal bikes without E are also a good option.
If one of you is not confident enough to ride a bike, you can use our tandem for two adults. Please note that the tandem is only suitable for flat routes. But the flat route to Lake Brienz, for example, is great fun for two! The tandem cannot be booked online, so please check availability using our contact form .
The address is
Hoeheweg 133
3800 Interlaken Switzerland
A description of how to find us, whether by car or train, can be found here
We offer free bike maps with route suggestions for a duration between 1 hour and 8 hours. As soon as you come to our store, we will look together what you are looking for and make suggestions which routes are suitable for you (and which rather less).
An overview of the possible routes can be found here. We STRONGLY advise that you talk to us before you simply plan one of these routes. Please keep in mind that we are in the "real" mountains here and a route that looks "quite interesting" on the map can quickly turn out to be a very sporty route or simply not feasible. The fitness levels indicated are for people who cycle frequently, and not just on flat routes. So use this map with caution and talk to us before you go on tour!
No, if you want to keep an e-bike overnight. E-bikes need to be recharged overnight, which usually involves removing the battery from the frame. To do this, we would have to give you the key and a charger and explain exactly how to remove, charge and reinstall the battery. Unfortunately, problems occur far too often (battery incorrectly installed or removed, keys broken or lost, etc.). We therefore no longer rent out e-bikes overnight. You are welcome to bring the e-bike back in the afternoon, we will charge it for you and you can pick it up again the next morning from 9:00 am.
Our online rental reservation only allows you to rent for a single day. If you would like to rent for several consecutive days, you must enter a separate rental reservation for each day.
Yes, if you have not rented an e-bike, if we know where you are staying and if it is ensured that this place provides a room where the bikes can be safely locked up (this is necessary for insurance reasons). We know most of the hotels in Interlaken and the surrounding area. So if you let us know which hotel / hostel you are staying in, we will probably know if there is such a room. If we do not know the hotel / hostel, you can check if they have such a room.
No, it is not possible to return the bike to another location. You must return the bike to the rental station where you rented it.
We have bikes with training wheels. So if the kids want to ride themselves, you can rent one of our children's bikes.
Please note that a child with a bike with training wheels cannot participate in guided tours. If you want to join a guided tour with child / children, please choose the Interlaken tour On this tour you can take your child in a child seat or in the cargo e-bike (up to 2 children possible).
We have many options:
- Tandem: A youth/adult can sit in the back seat and pedal along. The rider in the front seat must be a safe bike rider and at least 170cm tall. The person on the back seat must be at least 140cm tall.
- we have 4-wheeled bikes, the so-called Quadri-Cycles, which is suitable for 2 or 4 adults/youth with a height between 140 and 185cm. These Quadri-Cycles are not bookable online, but can be requested via our contact form.
- we have a kind of bungee tow rope for bikes, with which you can pull a second bike. It is flexible, thus does not sag when the tension decreases, and is primarily intended. to pull a second bike uphill. This is a quite universal method and works also for adults (the rope is very stable and approved for loads up to 250 kg). On a test ride you can test if you feel safe with this special bike pulling rope. This bungee cord is not bookable online, but can be requested via our contact form.
Adolescents and adults weighing more than 20kg cannot ride a bicycle with training wheels because the training wheels cannot support this weight.
No, but if you bring your own device incl. holder, you can of course use it. If you think that neither a map with route suggestions nor a navigation device is the right solution for you, come along on one of our guided tours.
Were you looking for a road bike? Since the demand for road bikes is very low, we do not offer them. Most of the bike routes are on unpaved roads. The road to Grindelwald/Lauterbrunnen is very busy and definitely not recommended.
