Take your child on a trip

Child Seats & Trailers

If your child is too small to ride their own bike, we have child seats, trailers and other options for them

What accessories for child transport do you have?

We have child seats that can be mounted on the carrier of an adult's bike. Please contact us to find out whether a child seat can be attached to the desired adult's bike. You will find this information in the description of the adult's bike, or you can call us or send us an email.
Then we have a child trailer with which you can transport one or two children. The trailer can carry up to two children with a maximum total weight of 50 kg.

For larger/heavier children or teenagers, we have a kind of bungee tow rope that can be used to pull a second bike. It is flexible, so it doesn't sag when the tension is released, and is primarily intended for pulling a second bike uphill. This is a fairly universal method and also works for teenagers and adults (the rope is very stable and approved for loads of up to 80 kg). You can test whether you feel safe with this special bike tow rope on a test ride. This bungee tow rope cannot be booked online, but can be requested via our contact form.

Will my child fit in the child seat? Is the bungee cord suitable?

Child seat: age from 1 year to about 3 years. Maximum height 100 cm, maximum weight 20 kg.

Child trailer: one or two children. Maximum height 110 cm, maximum total weight 50 kg.

Bungee pull rope: Age from approx. 6 years. Height from approx. 100 cm. The pull rope can also pull a teenager or adult (load up to 80 kg possible, we have tested it). Children can join in if they want to, but they don't have to.

Is the bike suitable for what I intend to do?

If a child seat is fitted to a bike, it is better not to ride on rough gravel paths, forest tracks or even MTB trails. Neither the children nor the material are made and designed for this. With the bungee tow rope, it is possible to use any terrain that is not too demanding for the rider and the child being towed.

Which routes can I use if I go on tour with a child seat or child trailer?

A nice tour with a child seat or child trailer to the lakes, to Unterseen, to Bönigen or to one of the other beautiful villages around Interlaken: no problem!
A longer tour with forest paths and steeper passages, e.g. to Lauterbrunnen or around Lake Brienz, is not possible with a child seat or child trailer.

Full day = from morning to afternoon (see opening hours). The price is therefore not valid for 24 hours.

The minimum rental period for online bookings is 4 hours. A shorter rental period is only possible directly in the bike store on site.

Multi-day rentals / Overnight rentals

Please note that a "full day" does not mean 24 hours, but from the opening to the closing of our store. Overnight rental is available upon request. Once we have verified that your hotel / hostel has a secure lockable room for bikes, you can rent overnight.

We give you a charger and the key for the battery. Together with the explanations on how to remove and reinstall the battery, nothing stands in the way of a multi-day rental!

Multi-day rentals / Overnight rentals

It is not possible to hire this bike for several days.
