If your child is too small to ride their own bike, we have child seats, slipstream bikes, etc. for that.
What accessories for child transport do you have?
We have child seats that can be mounted on the rack of an adult's bike. Please check with us if a child seat can be mounted on the desired adult's bike (you can find this information in the description of the adult's bikes, or you can call or email us).
For larger / heavier children or teenagers, our Tag-Along unicycle is ideal. This unicycle-velo (also called slipstream-velo) can be attached to an adult's bike. Please ask us which bike is suitable for the slipstream bike.
Will my child fit in the child seat / on the slipstream bike?
Child seat: age from 1 year to about 3 years. Maximum height 100 cm, maximum weight 20 kg.
Slipstream velo: age from 6 to about 10 years. Height between 100 cm and 140 cm. The children can pedal, but do not have to.
Is the bike suitable for what I intend to do?
If a child seat is mounted on a bicycle or a slipstream bicycle is attached, it is better not to ride on rough gravel paths, forest paths or even on MTB trails. Neither the children nor the material are made and intended for this.
A nice tour to the lakes, to Unterseen or to one of the other beautiful villages around Interlaken: no problem! A longer tour with forest paths and steeper passages, e.g. to Lauterbrunnen or around Lake Brienz, are not possible with a child seat or slipstream bike.
Students and hostel guests get a discount of CHF 3.- for a bike rental from 2 hours.
Please note that a "full day" does not mean 24 hours, but from the opening to the closing of our store. Overnight rental is available upon request. Once we have verified that your hotel / hostel has a secure lockable room for bikes, you can rent overnight.
We give you a charger and the key for the battery. Together with the explanations on how to remove and reinstall the battery, nothing stands in the way of a multi-day rental!
Multi-day rental is not possible for this cargo e-bike.
If you want to ride only in Interlaken or to Unterseen, or leisurely to one of the two lakes, check out these bikes without e-motor at. The paths in and around Interlaken are mostly flat and an e-bike is not absolutely necessary.
If you want to cycle to both lakes and visit the beautiful villages around Interlaken, we recommend our e-bikes. If you ride your bike frequently and have no problems riding uphill in parts, our normal bikes without E are also a good option. If you like a sporty longer ride and are fit, try one of our mountain bikes.
We have all kinds of bikes suitable for more than one person (let's say one of you can't ride a bike safely enough). Either you rent our Tandem or one of the Quadri-Cycles. These are bikes with 4 wheels, for two or four people. Both of them are suitable only for flat strecekn. Tandem and Quadricycles are not bookable online, please ask for availability via our contact form request.
The address is
Hoeheweg 133
3800 Interlaken Switzerland
A description of how to find us, whether by car or train, can be found here
We offer free bike maps with route suggestions for a duration between 1 hour and 8 hours. As soon as you come to our store, we will look together what you are looking for and make suggestions which routes are suitable for you (and which rather less).
An overview of the possible routes can be found here. We STRONGLY advise that you talk to us before you simply plan one of these routes. Please keep in mind that we are in the "real" mountains here and a route that looks "quite interesting" on the map can quickly turn out to be a very sporty route or simply not feasible. The fitness levels indicated are for people who cycle frequently, and not just on flat routes. So use this map with caution and talk to us before you go on tour!
Yes, if we know where you are staying and that this place provides a room where the bikes can be safely locked up (this is for insurance reasons). We know most of the hotels in Interlaken and the surrounding area. So if you let us know which hotel / hostel you are staying at, we will probably know if there is such a room. If we do not know the hotel / hostel, you can check if they have such a room.
In the high season (July and August) multi-day rentals for e-bikes are not possible.
No, it is not possible to return the bike to another location. You must return the bike to the rental station where you rented it.
We have bikes with training wheels. So if the kids want to ride themselves, you can rent one of our children's bikes.
Please note that a child with a bike with training wheels cannot participate in guided tours. If you want to join a guided tour with child / children, please choose the Interlaken tour On this tour you can take your child in a child seat or in the cargo e-bike (up to 2 children possible).
We have many options:
- Tandem: A youth/adult can sit in the back seat and pedal along. The rider in the front seat must be a safe bike rider and at least 170cm tall. The person on the back seat must be at least 140cm tall.
- we have a tricycle suitable for teenagers and adults with a height between 140 and 175cm. It has no e-moto, so it is only suitable for flat routes and can NOT be used on guided tours. This tricycle is not bookable online, but can be requested via our contact form.
- we have 4-wheeled bikes, the so-called Quadri-Cycles, which is suitable for 2 or 4 adults/youth with a height between 140 and 185cm. These Quadri-Cycles are not bookable online, but can be requested via our contact form.
- we have a kind of bungee tow rope for bikes, with which you can pull a second bike. It is flexible, thus does not sag when the tension decreases, and is primarily intended. to pull a second bike uphill. This is a quite universal method and works also for adults (the rope is very stable and approved for loads up to 250 kg). On a test ride you can test if you feel safe with this special bike pulling rope. This bungee cord is not bookable online, but can be requested via our contact form.
Adolescents and adults weighing more than 20kg cannot ride a bicycle with training wheels because the training wheels cannot support this weight.
No, but if you bring your own device incl. holder, you can of course use it. If you think that neither a map with route suggestions nor a navigation device is the right solution for you, come along on one of our guided tours.
Were you looking for a road bike? Since the demand for road bikes is very low, we do not offer them. Most of the bike routes are on unpaved roads. The road to Grindelwald/Lauterbrunnen is very busy and definitely not recommended.
